As you enter the restaurant, you cannot help but be awe-struck by the amazing Temple of Heaven. The proximity of this monument makes it seem almost unearthly, but indeed, you are sitting beneath the actual gate to the Temple of Heaven, mere yards away. With the wall-to-wall windows, you will almost feel you are dining in "Wongudan" itself, with the sacrificial altar discreetly hidden beneath the ornate three-tiered, octagonal temple.

With such a magnificent view, it is only fitting that a meal served in The Ninth Gate match the mystical quality of the temple. Transport yourself to the heavens as you linger over delicate escargot, roast duck breast or Black Angus beef. We, at The Ninth Gate, were twice honored with this prestigious award, in 1993 and 1996.
